What is Cambridge Exams?
Cambridge Exams is a set of international certification exams in English. Each exam tests a certain level of language proficiency on 4 points: listening, reading, writing and speaking. All Cambridge Exams are a pass/fail test. The certificate is valid for an indefinite period.
The exam is conducted in British English. It can be both in paper and computer form.
Since 2016, all Cambridge Exams have been graded on the same scale.

The most common exams:
– KET (or A2 Key): low level, basic knowledge of English. The maximum score is 150, the passing score is 120 and above;
– PET (or B1 Preliminary exam): intermediate level. Certificate B1 proves the ability to communicate on everyday topics, and understand English at a household level. The maximum score is 230, the passing score is 140 and above;
– FCE (First Certificate or B2 First exam): above average level. It is the most popular exam in the Cambridge Exams list because the B2 level is often the minimum requirement to be accepted into a job or university. The maximum score is 180, the passing score is 160 and above;
– CAE (or C1 Advanced Exam): advanced level. This exam is usually needed for universities with advanced study programs. The C1 certificate gives advantages when entering British educational institutions, obtaining a visa, and finding a job. The maximum score is 200, the passing score is 180 and above;
– CPE (or C2 Proficiency exam) – the highest and most difficult level. Having a C2 certificate proves that the student has excellent command of English almost like a native language and can study or work in any English language environment. The maximum score is 230, the passing score is 200 and above;
– Linguaskill (replaced BULATS since 2019) is an online test mainly used by educational institutions and companies for group or individual English language testing. Confirms how effectively and competently the candidate can communicate and present himself. Assessed on a scale of 82 to 180 points;
