What is GMAT?
The GMAT Focus Edition is a standardized computer-adaptive test that assesses the analytical, quantitative, verbal, and complex reasoning skills of people seeking admission to management programs such as MBA or other related degrees. The GMAT is widely used by business schools and management programs around the world as part of the admissions process to assess candidates’ ability to solve problems, analyze data, and communicate effectively in a business and management context.
GMAT Focus Edition is available throughout the year, with no fixed testing dates. You can take the exam online from the comfort of your own home or test in person at an approved Pearson VUE testing center – the choice is yours.
The maximum test score is 805 and the minimum score is 205. Section scores range from 60 to 90 points.
An official score report is provided within 3 to 5 business days.
Scores are valid for five years.
Structure of the GMAT
The exam is 2 hours and 15 minutes long, featuring 64 questions across three sections, each lasting 45 minutes:
Quantitative Reasoning
Assessing foundational algebra, arithmetic, and problem-solving skills crucial for quantitative subjects.
21 questions emphasize logical and analytical thinking without the use of a calculator.
Verbal Reasoning
Evaluates reading comprehension, reasoning, and argument assessment.
23 questions based on short passages (<100 words), assessing skills like main idea comprehension and logical structure.
Data Insights
Assesses real-world data analysis skills, allowing calculator use.
20 questions include types like “Data Sufficiency,” “Multiple Source Reasoning,” “Analyzing Tables,” “Graph Interpretation,” and “Two-Part Analysis.” Evaluate quantitative and verbal abilities in solving complex problems and identifying relationships.
